A Small Loss, But I’ll Take It [Diet Results Week #11]

Week #11 wasn’t too great, mainly because I had a few cheats throughout the week.  I guess I haven’t fully recovered my discipline that I had prior to my vacation, but at least I still managed to lose weight this week.

I have a feeling the upcoming holidays are going to be dangerous, but I’ll tackle those when we get to them.

Let’s check out the week 11 details…

Week 11 Results

I was happy to see that, even without strict compliance to the diet (which I kick myself for, don’t worry), I was still able to lose 0.8 lbs.

Here are the numbers at the end of Week 11 (as of 11/3/12):

Although I’ve managed to consistently lose a little bit of weight each week, my body fat % hasn’t moved for weeks.  I blame this on two things: Not following the slow carb diet 100% and not maintaining some kind of regular resistance based workout schedule.

Earlier on in the diet, I would spend at least 5 minutes a day doing push-ups and kettle bell swings.  Now, I’m lucky if I do this 3 times a week.

Cheat Day and Other Notes

As I mentioned above, I had multiple cheat days during this week.  I hate to make excuses, but I was in a pretty bad car accident earlier in the week, and for some reason this made me feel like indulging in bad food.  I’m okay aside from some minor neck/back pain, but the car was close to being totaled (that’s my actual car pictured above).

I’m usually not an “emotional eater”, but sometimes when you’re having a really bad day, it feels good to eat some pizza and have a couple of drinks, if I’m being perfectly honest with you.  Again, this is terrible for the diet, but luckily it wasn’t too damaging. 

I think I probably would’ve lost well over a pound this week if hadn’t been for all the cheating, but I can’t worry about that right now.  All I can do is look forward and try my best to stick to the diet in the upcoming weeks.

Something to consider to get your discipline back up is to re-read the SCD chapters in The Four Hour Body. I find this to be really helpful personally and for those I coach. It has a way of re-educating and re-exciting you toward a more disciplined approach.

Thanks newbodi.es, that’s a good idea. I can tell I will probably need to do that once the holiday season is over.
