My 2013 Goals: Looking Forward to a Great Year

Happy New Year!  Hopefully you had a great holiday season and are ready for a successful 2013.  I know I am.

While I slowly make my way back from what has now been about a month-long break from this blog, I wanted to publicly declare my 2013 goals both for this blog and for my personal health/diet.

(Don’t worry, I’ll soon be back to my regular updates and slow carb diet recipes.)

My 2013 Goals

Without further ado, here are the goals I hope to accomplish in 2013:

1) Get down to 175 lbs. and stay there.

This is actually the goal I had in mind when I first went on the slow carb diet (and I was at 197 lbs.), and I’m currently at around 185 lbs.  At my last weigh-in on the diet, I was at 180.8 lbs, so you can see that I’ve gained a little bit of weight back after being off the diet for the past 30-40 days.

I’m 6 feet tall, and I feel like 175 lbs. would be a good, healthy number to strive for.

2) Try the PAGG Stack recommended by Tim Ferriss in The 4-Hour Body.

This is a supplement that Tim Ferriss recommends for helping you lose fat quicker, especially when you feel you’ve reached a plateau.  I don’t know much about it right now, but before I start incorporating it into my diet, I’ll probably do a bit more reading on it.

And instead of trying to make it myself, I will probably use this product that Amazon sells.

3) Continue to post a new slow carb recipe on a weekly basis, on this blog.

This is really what Slow Carb Diet Experiments is all about.  While I like to write about my diet progress, that’s really more to just keep me held accountable for my progress.

The reason I created this blog, and the reason why I enjoy writing here, is because I wanted to create and/or modify recipes so that you or I could make delicious meals that fit the rules of the diet.  It may be a lot of work, but I plan on getting back to posting recipes on a weekly basis (for the most part).

4) Find an exercise plan that I can stick to.

I generally don’t like vague, immeasurable goals like this one, however this is a real goal of mine that I can hopefully refine throughout the year.

This is something that I’ve struggled with forever – finding a way to consistently exercise.   Just like dieting, I know this is something many other people struggle with too.  I don’t think there is a “magic bullet” solution out there, but if or when I find something that works, you can be sure that I’ll share all the details here.

That’s it for my 2013 goals – they’re not overly ambitious, but they will still be challenging to meet. I hope 2013 will be a very productive and successful year for all of us.
